How to test the quality of the car starter motor?

Author:

First, check whether the suction switch can be normally closed and whether the starter can operate normally. In order to better test, it is best to prepare a battery and positive and negative lines, connect it to the starter, and then the starter starts to run for testing.

When the car starter motor fails, the following three situations may occur:

After the start switch is turned on, the starter rotates at a high speed, but the engine crankshaft cannot respond, which indicates that the starter transmission mechanism is malfunctioning, which may be caused by the wear of the transmission gear or one-way clutch;

The starter is not working properly and the transmission gear cannot rotate. This may be caused by power cord problems, ablation of the starter switch contacts, or high engine resistance;

The starter output power is insufficient to drive the crankshaft, which may be caused by a short circuit in the excitation coil or a loss of battery power.
